The extension of the product certificate or main component certificate is a collaboration between ScaleAQ and DNV and is granted for up to 5 years at a time. This applies to older feed barges delivered by ScaleAQ, Steinsvik, OCEA, ARE, and Rune Haug.
The process works as follows:
- Thickness measurements of hull and mooring
- Visual inspection of the barge
- Updated documentation handled by ScaleAQ
- DNV coordination handled by ScaleAQ
- Certificate of life extension issued by DNV
Upgrade the barge at the same time?
It’s often beneficial to combine life extension with an upgrade, for example by increasing mooring capacity. ScaleAQ provides updated calculations, drawings, and all necessary documentation.
