Is ScaleAQ Norways best kept secret?

ScaleAQ is an international company within aquaculture. We provide innovation, technology and equipment to customers globally and have more than 40 years of experience in the industry.

Digitization in form of autonomous systems is about to take the aquaculture industry into the fourth industrial revolution, and as a leading supplier withing aquaculture we have taken the challenge. Our mission is to create growth within aquaculture by establishing, optimizing and upgrading the industry.

In addition to our focus on autonomous system, we have put sustainability high on our agenda and is a key factor for all of our activities. We have connected our work to UN’s sustainability goals.

Our digital department

Our digital department has about 35 employees and 10 consultants across Bergen, Florø and Hanoi. We develop a range of software and hardware-products:

  • feeding systems for remote fish feeding
  • underwater camera with AI for survailance
  • systems for biological planning, analysis and documentation – from eggs to fully grown fish
  • integration platform with API’s and data streams from our IoT units, which we share with our customers and 3rd parties

As part of a bigger company we corporate tightly with many other departments in our company.

Product Team

Our product teams are agile and cross functional. Our department is aligned with our software architecture, inspired by Team Topologies. In addition to developing software we focus on learning and social activities, to create good relations and an environment for innovation.

ScaleAQ in Florø have developed world leading software for the aquaculture industry for more than 20 years. Most likely will more than half of all fish farming salmon in the world pass through our software for traceability, documentation and planning. Florø is Norway’s most westerly city close to both ocean and mountains, with kinder gardens, schools, activities and shopping close by.

Bergen

ScaleAQ in Bergen is located at Minde in newly renovated premises. At the moment a new stretch of the light rail is being built, just outside our offices. From Bergen it is a short distance to many of our Norwegian customer, which gives us rapid feedback during development of our digital products.
