Sea lice have proven to be adaptable beings and are an ongoing challenge for fish farmers. However, they have a low level of tolerance for sudden changes in temperature. Since 2016 the Norwegian aquaculture industry in particular, has mainly used non-medicinal methods for delicing. The most commonly used method is thermal delicing.
