As part of the long-term strategic growth of the UK company we are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our growing dynamic team. Although the post is advertised as based in Fort William, consideration will be given to applicants out with the area who meet the required criteria.

Systems Technician

You will be required to install, repair and service a wide variety of equipment, including feed and camera systems – this would be on customer sites and also in our Fort William workshop. An electrical background will be advantageous, you do not have to be a time-served electrician, but you will be able to demonstrate a good level of electrical competence.

Essential skills – working knowledge and understanding of electrical and electronic systems. Fault diagnostic experience in electrical systems and an understanding of PLC based control systems.
Desirable skills – being able to follow service/test procedures and complete electronic service documentation. A basic understanding of IT networking, troubleshooting and support would also be of benefit.

Training on all equipment will be provided. In fulfilling this role, you will be required to complete risk assessments, timesheets and customer quotes etc while adhering to various company policies/procedures. Good communication skills, being self-motivated, willingness to learn, self-reliance and prepared to work flexibly to meet the demands of the job are also required.
The successful candidate will provide day to day technical support and advice for our systems and will also help to promote the company and the wide range of products we offer.

There is a requirement for travel to customer sites, including locations in Orkney, Mainland, Western Isles and Ireland. Sometimes this travel will be at short notice and, through time, you will also be required to provide on-call cover over weekends as part of a rota system.
